Warning to fellow authors trying to get published

Scam Alert:

While researching and submitting to potential literary agents I came across a scam.

The company is Writer's Literary and they are not legit.

The way I stumbled across them was by searching a specific agent's name. This agent does not have a website, so when I searched her name these people came up and looked like this was a website that she ran. I went to it, filled out their query form and sent it to their query department. Within 3 days of my query, they emailed me saying that they were interested in seeing my full manuscript. I was excited.

Before sending them anything further, however, I did another google search for their name and came up with post after post of scam warnings for this company. Basically what happens is they ask for your manuscript and then ask if it has been professionally edited. Most first time authors have NOT been professionally edited, so when you answer "no" they then refer to you an editor and ask for a $95.00 editing fee. Of course, after they get your money, you never hear from them again.

I never gave them any money and have not and will not send them anything further, but thought that I would help get the word out.

Please be CAREFUL!
