To Be Announced

I have forgotten about this place. I meant to keep a running blog of my writing and noticed today that the last time I posted here was over a year ago.

To update the three people (nice) following my blog, this is what's happening:

My finished manuscript (Evergreen Lake) needs a lot of work and I haven't had the desire to go through it recently, but I will one of these days.

In the meantime I have 3 more stories in the works...

Celebrity: A story about a girl that works her bum off to become famous and finds out that it's not always all it's cracked up to be.

(As yet untitled) A romance novel that comes complete with a psycho ex-girlfriend

Brainstorm: A supernatural romance/action novel.

I have some very good parts to all three of these written already, but they are just bits and pieces. The hardest part for me is the inbetween spaces and putting it all together. My brain concentrates on specific things for only so long before something interrupts it and takes over, which is why three stories going at once. Right now Brainstorm is the main player. Hopefully I will be able to get something substantial written before I switch gears again.

Until next time......Keep Reading!

Warning to fellow authors trying to get published

Scam Alert:

While researching and submitting to potential literary agents I came across a scam.

The company is Writer's Literary and they are not legit.

The way I stumbled across them was by searching a specific agent's name. This agent does not have a website, so when I searched her name these people came up and looked like this was a website that she ran. I went to it, filled out their query form and sent it to their query department. Within 3 days of my query, they emailed me saying that they were interested in seeing my full manuscript. I was excited.

Before sending them anything further, however, I did another google search for their name and came up with post after post of scam warnings for this company. Basically what happens is they ask for your manuscript and then ask if it has been professionally edited. Most first time authors have NOT been professionally edited, so when you answer "no" they then refer to you an editor and ask for a $95.00 editing fee. Of course, after they get your money, you never hear from them again.

I never gave them any money and have not and will not send them anything further, but thought that I would help get the word out.

Please be CAREFUL!

First time Blogger

So I have decided to start a blog to help me get my name out there for future publishing purposes. I also think that this will be a good sounding board for the millions of thoughts that float around in my head all the time.

Please bear with me as I am very very new at this. I am not sure how often I will be updating at first, but hopefully I don't bore people too much.
